Amsya monastery
This monastery is located in Ebnat district in the South Gondar zone administration. If you travel approximately 13 km from Ebnat, the capital of the district, you can reach it by car in Hala and approximately 3:00 hours on foot. The monastery is said to have been founded in 1260 during the reign of Emperor Yakuno. This monastery got its name from the five saints, namely Abune Tekle Haymanot, Hlawi Christos, Mekdese Christos, Physika Christos and Myaya Christos, who purified the monastery. The monastery is a men's monastery and the place is surrounded by various trees and plants. Located in a very attractive and beautiful place, this monastery contains ancient relics and is one of the most important and spiritual attractions in our country.

3. It plays an important role in protecting the local climate. In addition, it is celebrated every year on December 5th and August 24th. It is the royal festival of the monastery, which is also celebrated by the local community.
